Situated along the western banks of Lake Kivu, this growing region is dominated by small farms and small community mills. The Kawa Kabuya cooperative works with farmers and NGOs in this region to improve crop quality and yield, with a focus on producing more specialty grade coffee that can dramatically increase income for farmers.
