Puffy Eyes in the Morning? Try These Natural DIY Coffee Remedies

Soothing Anti-Aging Coffee Eye Cream
Puffy eyes and dark circles can also be a sign of aging as the skin under the eye weakens and it’s becoming harder to stay tight. This soothing anti-aging coffee eye cream contains high-quality skin-friendly oils, caffeine, and essential oils that’ll help minimize redness, puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles.
For the eye cream:
- 1 tsp carrier oil (jojoba, avocado, sweet almond, or your facial oil of choice)
- ¼ cup coconut oil, melted (omit if you have oily skin)
- ¼ cup coffee-infused oil
- ¼ cup organic beeswax
- A few drops of Roman chamomile essential oil (you can also use rosehip, frankincense, tea tree, or rose essential oil)
- A few drops of pure vitamin E oil
For the coffee-infused oil:
- ½ cup freshly ground coffee (do not use already used coffee grounds)
- 1 cup jojoba, almond, coconut, or other skin-friendly oil of choice
Coffee-Infused Skin Oil
To prepare the coffee-infused oil, add the coffee grounds into a double broiler or a bowl over a water-filled saucepan. Add the oil and stir until incorporated. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture steep for about 1 hour. Let it cool completely before straining and transferring into an airtight container. You can also add a few drops of some skin-friendly essential oils.
Anti-Aging Coffee Eye Cream
In a double broiler or a heat-resistant glass bowl over a water-filled saucepan, place the beeswax to melt. Once melted, add the carrier oil, vitamin E oil, coconut oil, and coffee-infused oil. Stir to combine. Do not let the mixture boil. Remove from the stove and add the essential oil. Stir to mix. Once the mixture is ready, transfer into a glass or tin container and let it solidify. You can place the container in a colder room or the refrigerator.
For best results, apply a small amount of the cream around and under the eye area and use a jade or rose quarts roller to help soothe any puffiness. This eye cream is best used in the evening or right before bed.

Undereye Coffee Mask
This undereye coffee mask is the perfect way to spend 20 minutes in the morning or afternoon relaxing, reading, or enjoying some alone time. There are no artificial ingredients or additives, and you can use items you already have at home.
- ½ cup finely ground coffee (we recommend our Sträva Craft Coffee 4 mg CBD - Medium Roast)
- ½ - 1 tbsp milk of choice (we recommend Elmhurst 1925 Plant Milks)
- 1 tsp organic honey or agave
- 1 tsp natural organic yogurt (optional)
- A few drops of olive oil (or other skin oil of choice)
In a small bowl or container, add the coffee, milk, and honey. Mix well to incorporate and make a paste. Add the yogurt (optional), and a few drops of olive oil (or your face oil of choice). Stir to incorporate. Apply the paste under the eyes, but avoid getting too close to the waterline. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water or damp face towel. Finish off with moisturizing eye cream.
Gentle Coffee Undereye & Face Scrub
The skin under and around the eyes is the thinnest on the face and is very sensitive to harsh ingredients. This is why used coffee grounds or fresh finely ground coffee is are the perfect ingredient for a gentle coffee undereye scrub.
To prevent skin irritation and redness, make sure you grind the coffee on the finest setting, to an almost flour-like consistency. You can also add skin-soothing ingredients such as Aloe Vera gel, essential oils, CBD oil, and organic honey.
- ½ - 1 cup of coffee grounds
- ¼ cup regular or brown sugar
- ¼ cup Epsom salt (optional)
- ½ cup olive oil, solid coconut oil, or avocado oil
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- 1-2 tablespoons plant-based milk (we recommend Elmhurst 1925 Milked Oats)
- 1 tsp powdered cinnamon, turmeric, or ginger (optional, omit if you have sensitive skin)
In a small bowl, add the Epsom salt (if using, make sure it’s crushed finely), the coffee grounds, sugar, and spices (if using). Stir to combine. In a different bowl, combine the honey, oil, and milk. Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir to incorporate. Transfer into an airtight container. Use 1-2 tablespoons once or twice a week. Scrub very gently, especially in the eye area. Rinse the scrub with warm water followed by cold water and moisturize as usual.
